MediTrust — Custom Ecommerce Development for a Multivendor Medical Equipment Marketplace

MediTrust International is a Bangladesh-based multivendor medical equipment marketplace designed to connect medical suppliers with hospitals, clinics, healthcare institutes, and individual buyers.

Our role went far beyond installing WordPress, WooCommerce, and Dokan. We developed and customized the platform around MediTrust’s specific business requirements, extending the standard marketplace functionality with custom vendor profiles, storefront information, customer account experiences, medical product specifications, inquiry workflows, directory features, and vendor dashboard functionality.

The result is a purpose-built medical ecommerce platform where suppliers can manage their businesses and products while buyers can discover equipment, evaluate supplier information, submit inquiries, and access useful healthcare resources from one system.

A standard WooCommerce and Dokan installation could not support many of the workflows required for a medical equipment marketplace.

• Standard WooCommerce product fields were not sufficient for detailed medical equipment specifications.
• Dokan’s default vendor profile and store interface did not provide all the supplier information required by MediTrust.
• High-value medical equipment often requires an inquiry or quotation process instead of normal direct checkout.

• Custom Vendor Profile System: Extended vendor profiles with MediTrust-specific supplier information and frontend presentation.
• Custom Vendor Store Details: Built additional storefront information and layouts so medical suppliers can present their businesses professionally within the marketplace.
• Customized Dokan Dashboard: Extended and customized the vendor dashboard to support the workflows required by MediTrust while keeping vendors inside a controlled frontend environment.
• Custom Customer Profile: Developed additional customer-profile functionality instead of relying only on the default WooCommerce account experience.
• Custom Medical Product Specifications: Added structured product specification functionality for medical equipment attributes, brand information, origin, warranty, availability, and other product-specific data.
• Custom Product Inquiry System: Built the inquiry functionality with custom code to support quotation-based and high-value medical equipment purchases without depending on an additional inquiry plugin.
• WooCommerce Marketplace Integration: Integrated product catalog, categories, vendor products, customer accounts, and ecommerce workflows into a unified system.
• Dokan Multivendor Integration: Used Dokan for the core marketplace infrastructure while extending its limitations through project-specific custom development.
• Healthcare Directory Development: Developed directory functionality for suppliers, healthcare institutes, ambulance services, blood banks, and other useful listings.
• Custom Frontend Components: Built project-specific frontend interfaces, forms, navigation, profile sections, product information layouts, and dashboard components.
• Responsive Development: Optimized marketplace, vendor dashboard, profiles, product pages, directories, and account interfaces for desktop, tablet, and mobile.

MediTrust International now operates as a customized medical equipment marketplace rather than a standard WooCommerce store.
